X-Men: The official Game is not one of the better games that I have played.
The Sights/Sounds: X-Men the Official Game has some of THE WORST graphics that I have seen in a long time. The cutscenes use a stop-motion-animation system. And the animation system is very visually unpleasing. The graphics in the actual gameplay are bad as well and are quite a bit like PS1 graphics, which are also unpleasing. And the sounds of the game are okay, but definetly nothing special.
The Gameplay: In X-Men, you play as 3 different members of the X-Men; Wolverine, Nightcrawler, and Iceman. Each person's missions, skills, and leveling up abilities are different. Nightcrawler's missions are all about speed. In Nightcrawler's missions you have to disactivate/repair things (bombs, computer panels, etc.) within the time limit and while defeating enemies at the same time. Nightcrawler can teleport, brawl, and heal himself. Nightcrawler can level up his: Health, Brawling, Precision, Relocation, and Shadow Aura. Wolverine's missions are basically just beat em up missions and hack and slash. In Wolverine's missions you beat up everyone that gets in your way to reach the mission exit. Wolverine's missions are button smashers and are in my opinion, the most boring missions of the game. Basically the only thing that Wolverine does is fight, but he can also go into "rage mode" (in this mode Wolverine does a lot more damage and he slowly regains lost health) and can heal himself. Wolverine can level up his: Health, Strength, Blocking, Healing Factor, and Fury. Iceman's missions are flight missions. In Iceman's missions, he flys around putting out fire's, stopping projectiles, and destroying enemies all at the same time. Iceman can fly around on his ice slide, fire icebeams/ice projectiles, and put up an ice shield to protect himself from oncoming threats. Iceman gradually heals himself, but can not press a button to heal himself like Nightcrawler and Wolverine. Iceman can level up his: Health, Ice Beam, Hailstorm, Ice Healing, and Balance.
Fun Factor: The amount of fun that the player has in this game depends of which character the person is playing. Wolverine's missions are fun at first, but the player later gets bored with Wolverine due to the fact that every one of his missions are button smashers and pretty much everyone of his missions are just hack and slash missions. Iceman's missions vary from mission to mission in the level of enjoyment. Some of Iceman's missions are fun and some are just plain boring. Nightcrawler's missions are the best though, and all of his missions are very fun to play.
Conclusion: X-Men: The Official Game is not one of the best games that I have played. It is definetly a rental at most, and please don't make the mistake of buying it. Overall, I would give X-Men: The Official Game a 6/10.
