Madden 06 is a disappointment to say the least. First of all, the pass cone is flawed beyond belief. You control the pass cone with either the right analog stick or with the R2 button and the corresponding receiver button. The R2 button also double as a pump fake so every time you release the R2 button without throwing the football, you'll do a pump fake which will have the opponent's defensive line salivating. Precision passing can be a great asset if used right but it only works with the pass cone.
The "truck stick" feature is cool if you only run the ball with power backs and throw to tight ends or Terrel Owens. Madden has always been one of the most realistic football games on the market and the most realistic thing in the world is Warrick Dunn "trucking" Ray Lewis. It's just weird playing with a small back and having to run over defensive line to get anywhere.
Everything else is just the same ole Madden. They added very few new pass catching, celebration, and running animations. The game looks the same if not worse than last year's version. The game has second long pauses occasionally after a celebration animation. It seems as if they are focusing all of there energy and man power to the next-gen consoles and left the fans in the dust.
