It is my opinion that TimeSplitters 2 is the greatest FPS ever created. Yes, even better than Halo. So when TimeSplitters: Future Perfect was announced I was understandably excited.
Now, four months since its release day I am happy with the game but also have my problems with it as well.
First, what I liked about it. TS3's focus is still the multiplayer aspect of the game. Nearly all the game modes from TS2 are present. In addition, more unlockable characters are in this game than the previous. The slippery aiming is gone allowing for precision aiming and easier kills. There is also a ton of new weaponry that will ensure that you will still be playing even years from now.
Now, what I don't like so much about this new TS's. First, the story mode. The game is supposed to span over a variety of times. So why does nearly every level look the same? Some of the characters I loved so much from TS2 have been replaced with unimaginative foot soldiers, and the multiplayer maps are not nearly as fun to play at as the ones from TS2. Also, what the heck did they do to the rocket launcher and shotgun!? My favorite weapons from TS2 have been seriously powered down.
All the negatives aside TS3 is a terrific FPS. Its a worthy investment and alot of fun.
