Mercenaries was made by Lucas Arts, and its not a star wars game. Mercenaries is one of my favorite games of 2005. Actually Mercenaries was the first great game to come out in 2005. You First choose which character you want to play as throughout the whole game. There is Chris Jacobs, Jennifer Mui, and Mattias Nillson. I preffer Chris, but its up to you. The game begins with a news report that explains the factions and the deck of 52. You are after General Song, AKA, the Ace of Spades. If captured he is worth a 100,000,000 bounty. There are two gigantic maps where you will be fighting the North Koreans. You will be working for four factions. The Allies, Chinese, Russians, and the South Koreans. One thing I don't like is when one faction tells you to attack or sabotage another faction, which will make them not like you. The graphics are amazing and the flame affects are exciting. The thrill of have something fall from the air and almost hit you is awesome. You have a large Arsenal of machine guns, shotguns, C4, heavy Rocket Launchers, pistols, unlockable weapons, air srikes, supply drops, vehicle drops, and much more. The Russians shop is a website that gives you the power to call in huge airstrikes with so much destrution, suppies and vehicles. You can also earn money by completing contracts, or mini-missions placed throughout the maps. There are bounties for items found like, blueprints, or destroying listening posts or statues. After you capture or kill the entire deck of 52, you will receive the portable air strike and a few other things. After you capture of kill General Song, You will unlock Playground of destruction mode. PODM is playing the game over again with all your money and unlocks from the last play-through. This is very fun and satisfying. There are dozens of other characters to unlock as you play. I enjoy this game, and im sure you will to, so I suggest you buy this one instead of renting it.
