this is a fun game. the island is huge and really fun to explore, and there are tons and tons of items to collect. also when you make the bow and the arrow, you can go into the plains and shoot deer and stuff. the graphics are pretty good for the DS. its very detailed and with realistic colors for the island enviroment; a lot of green and brown. the sound is great and makes you feel like your on the island yourself. the controls arent really that complecated so theyre easy to learn. there is a ton of good stuff, but a few bad stuff too. for example, you and the girls appetites. its amazing how much they have to eat to not die. that is really unrealistic. they need like, 10 coconuts, 40 potatoes, and just insane amounts of food throughout the day! this is extremely annoying, though if you can survive long enough to get a spear, it gets easier because you can get fish and stuff, which are worth a lot more food than coconuts. i havent actually killed a big animal like a deer or something because i made a really bad kind of arrow and its really innaccurate, but im sure the deer are a ton of food. there are also buffalo and goffers and a few other animals. with the use of a few cheat codes, food isnt really a problem anymore which helps, but it completely defeats the purpose of hunting which takes away a lot of the fun, and once you know how to do it, your going to do it, so you probably shouldnt use them if you want to keep it fun. another problem is how many things you can hold at once. you can hold like 15 things at once, and the shelf in your cave doesnt help much because it only holds like 5 items it would be a lot funner and a lot more realistic if you could drop stuff on the ground in the cave or something.
but i dont mean this is a bad game. it is extremely fun to explore the island because no matter how much you discover of it, theres still so much more to find. its really fun to hunt, even though without some decent arrows, its extremely hard to get them. and i havent even said anything about the jungle yet. you can catch snakes and turtles and a few more little animals like that that you can just pick up, and then you cook them and eat them! theres too much stuff to say about this game, so i wont be able to say it all here. if you have a DS and like rpg games, this is a great choice.
