Super Mario 64 was a Nintendo 64 title that was released a long time ago but finally Nintendo decided that it was a good enough game to continue selling it. However, the best way to do this was to "modernize."
After the 2004 appearance of the Nintendo DS the world was introduced to a new revolution of the game. It came with a rec room mode, letting you play the mini games you collect in Adventure mode (all of the mini games have good use of the touchscreen). An adventure mode that allows you to play the levels in the paintings of the castle and catch rabbits that give you the keys to Princess toadstools rec room and allow you to play a new mini game. And finally a vs. mode where you can wirelessly link to other DS' and battle for the stars on four courses.
Graphics
Though some of the Nintendo DS games before this had some pretty weak graphics. Nintendo succeded in even surpassing the Nintendo 64 graphics on the game. The game play is in a beautiful color and has and amazing 3-D
engine that made the game impressively appealing.
Challenge
The challenge level on this game ranges from relatively basic to hard enough to take you a few days or weeks (depending on your gaming skills), to figure out. Even if you've completely mastered the 64 version you are sure to be just as challenged as if you've never played on this version.
Touch Screen Usage
The touch screen was used beatifully in this game especially on the mini games. The adventure level admittedly doesn't use the touch screen for much more than a map and usage to move smoothly but the mini games more than make up for that.
Reccomendation
I would reccomend this game to anyone who is a fan of the mario series, and even if you're not this game is still fun and fullfilling.
