I would love to give this game a proper review. I wasn't as impressed with the first game as most people seem to be, but apparantly the sequel is superb.
However...
I can't get the blinking thing to work.
The developers have included this stupid piracy protection thing called STEAM. To be able to play HL2 you need to create a STEAM account on-line, (done that), and then you can play HL2. Mine just does not work though. I've tried all sorts. Other people have been and had a go as well. Nothing seems to work.
I can't take the game back because the Steam account has been registered on-line and so no-one else can install that particular DVD. Nor can I trade the game in because of the same reason.
I've wasted my money.
Looking on the web it seems that loads of people have had problems with STEAM.
Don't get me wrong, I think piracy protection is a great idea. This method is very poorly done though.
I'm sure that HL2 is really good and probably deserves the 90%+ that it has been getting. As far as I'm concerned though it gets 0% purely because of this ridiculous STEAM.
It's up to you, but I wouldn't have wasted my money if I had known a bit more about the problems.
