This version of The Sims is the first outing on the GBA and it is surprisingly good. Obviously, it would be impossible to have everything from the PC version on this handheld version, so the structure of the game has been changed to compensate for this. You still wander around, meet people, decorate your house and improve statistics of your character but between doing all this you are given missions to carry out by the various inhabitants of the town. As you progress and improve your stats newer missions will become available.
You also need to keep your little character fit and well. He/she needs to eat, sleep, shower, go to the toilet, be entertained somehow, talk to other people and a few other necessary things. If you don't they will become ill or smelly or bored and stop doing what you want them to do.
It's a really good little game with plenty of different tasks to carry out, and plenty of things you can do in between. However, it can occasionally get a bit boring waiting for your character to finish doing something that increases a statistic value, e.g. reading a book or exercising at the gym. Also, because it is mission based it is not an open-ended game. And it doesn't take long to complete all of the missions. It could have done with a few more missions to carry out just to make it last that bit longer. But never mind, it's still a valiant attempt at bringing The Sims onto a hand held console.
