This is easily the best Playstation 2 game of 2005, for many different reasons. With its very comfortable gameplay, interesting plot and story, and sheer graphic beauty, God Of War is a must-play title to say the least. This is one of the few games out there that is just flat out addicting; it was impossible for me to play for less than 5 hours at a time.
Many people have said this game is way too short, but if you consider how fun it is to play, and the numerous unlockables that are available, the game isn't as short as everyone thinks. Unlockables include God Mode (for expert gamers only!), awesome documentaries on the making and inspiration of the game, a mini game (Challenge Of The Gods), extra videos that add more to the story, and deleted enemies and levels.
The levels in God Of War are designed like no other game, with a perfect balance between full-blown action and puzzle-solving. There are tons of parts in this game that make the player say out loud: "That's BADASS!" (you know what I mean).
Overall, God Of War is a landmark in the action-adventure game genre. I certainly hope this game becomes a Greatest Hit title in the near future so the price drops quite a bit. This will help expand the game's fanbase, and turn more people onto action games like it did for me! I can't wait for a sequel!!!
