Mario Kart 64 was an absolutely fantastically successful multiplayer game for up to 4 players.Since it was so popular,Nintendo decided not to fiddle with the sequel and keep it exactly the way it should be.
Mario Kart Double Dash has 1 noticable difference:There are 2 players per kart, not 1.This means while one person drives, the other uses the weapons. The two players can switch roles during the race, but this needs to be done carefully and at the right time. The weapons include our old favourites:Shells,Mushrooms and of course,Stars(which make you invincible for about 8 seconds).
The game holds 16 courses in total. Each character owns a course in the game, for example,Wario Colosseum or Bowser Castle. The courses are split into 4 tournaments with 4 races each.Where you finish in the race determines how many points you will get at the end of the race. The player with the most points at the end of the tournament, wins.
Mario Kart Double Dash lacks things to do in 1 player mode,so I suggest inviting your mates round with extra controllers, and getting down to some mad multiplayer action.Brilliant multiplayer game.93%
