This is one of those games that will make you glad you bought a PSP. It does so many things right that many other PSP games get wrong. Speedy loading times are a blessing. Where Smackdown Vs. Raw took 10 seconds just to get the loading screen up, Tekken DR loads up each match within 4-6 seconds. Combine this with the lush graphics that really shows the PSP's technical capabilities and it makes every other PSP game's loading time seem inexcusable.
Another thing it does so right is that it plays brilliantly. Every character, old and new, are solid and fluid to fight with and against. The only wee problem is that diagonals are quite tricky to pull off at first, but it soon becomes second nature.
So, it's technically accomplished, looks great, sounds great, plays excellently. What else can you do to make it even better? Chuck in stacks of modes to keep you playing for weeks, even months. The Dojo Mode is a stroke of genius, battling for ranking supremacy in several dojos. And when you've had your fill of upgrading all 35 characters' ranks and titles, you can compete against ghosts online. Instead of going online, you can play against an artificial profile of someone you can download online. It works brilliantly too and you'll become obsessed with making your character almost unbeatable.
Tekken is by far one of the best titles for PSP. Every flaw you get from PSP games are virtually non existant and what you get is the same challenging and entertaining Tekken you know and love. It doesn't get any better than this. Well, until Soul Calibur comes along.
