As most series do, Rayman, Michel Ancel's underrated character who has his body parts floating around him, gets his spin-off title. (Even though we had Rayman Brain Games. Since it was rated EC, you'd know what to expect.) His consists of racing and fighting.
Graphics haven't shaped up any since Rayman 2. Not even for the Xbox console.
Sound isn't done all that well, though it's still acceptable sound for 2002. Music has a different style than the previous games. Not exactly bright and happy (Rayman 1) or bold, yet calm (Rayman 2).
The racing portion is pretty slow on-foot racing. There's Obstacle Racing and Time Attack. Time Attack is where you or your opponent has to be 6 seconds behind to claim the win.
The fighting is pretty fun. There's Total Fight and Freeze Combat. Total Fight is where you beat the crap out of the other guy with all sorts of weapons to score your points. Freeze Combat is where you try to catch more lums than the other guy (1 at a time). In that mode, the only way of stopping them from catching it first is by freezing them.
This overall, is fun, a nice spin-off, and worth your time. An 8 out of 10.
