OH MY GOD. This game is amazing. It's the perfect way to continue the Crono Trigger saga. This game keeps you at the edg of your seat.

The battle was the same as Crono Trigger where you randomly encounter a battle. You then go through the turn process of defeating the battle. Your equiped weapon was shown in battle.(basically, if you equip a weapon, that will be the wone shown in battle. If that weapon is unequipped and you put a new one on, the new weapon will be shown in the battle.)

The leveling up is rather annoying. Instead of getting experience, you level up with stars. You recieve a star when you beat a boss or reach a certain part of the storyline. Experience gets you special stuff, like more hp, mp, or new abilities. There is a total of maybe 45 or 50 stars in wone game. I suggest not getting the mastermune until a plus game. You have to steal plates from every dragon and get all of the experience on each character needed as well as have every possible star at the moment if you wish to beat Dario.

The storyline expands upon Chrono Trigger. It's somewhere in the future after Crono, Marle, and the gang did their stuff. The alternate world stuff is rather original. In many parts, you have to travel back and forth to work on the quest that you are currently on. You even get to see Crono, Marle, and Lucca in the game.

The graphics are amazing for the PS1. It's good enough to be considered PS2 graphics.

You get tons of characters in this game. Half of them suck and I'm pretty positive that you won't use them. Serge and Glenn have the best combo, though. Each character has their own story that puts them in with your heros.

Overall, Crono Cross is amazing. It is very addicting. I recomend that everyone at least tries to play this game.
