Based on the hit movie of the same name, Electronic Art's GODFATHER: THE GAME for the PS2 takes players into the world of the mafia. This third person shooter game features many of the familiar GODFATHER characters, locations, and events. Players begin the game by creating their character using a deep customization process. Once this is done, players join the Corleone family mafia. The player's character and Don Corleone witnessed the player's father being killed years ago, and now it's time for revenge. By working their way up the mafia ladder, players will eventually become second only to Don Corleone himself and will have the skills, knowledge, and power to go after the killer. The game captures the 1940's era perfectly and re-creates New York City as it would appear during that time. The characters bear a striking likeness to their movie portrayers, and players will feel like they are really interacting Sonny, Michael, Tom Hagen, Luca Brasi, and the rest of the cast. Gameplay is a bit like GRAND THEFT AUTO in that players will take on a number of different missions for different members of the Corleone family. Once these missions are completed, new missions open up and the player is rewarded with either money, a new position, or both. This style of gameplay fits in well with the storyline. GODFATHER: THE GAME brings the amazing movie to the PS2 with an intensity that players will love.
