Super Mario 64 is unquestionably one of the most important games of all time. Indeed, while I reserve the honor of "greatest game" for Ocarina of Time, I feel that Mario 64 is undeniably the most important game of all time, in that it set the standard for 3D gaming. Not only that, it did 3D gaming nearly perfectly, before anyone else had even tried it.
To this day, problems plague 3D adventure games, namely camera-angle troubles. But way back in 1996, ten years ago, the Nintendo people had all these problems solved when they released Super Mario 64. This game has a special place in my heart, and I think it must be conceded by all that it is indeed one of the most important games ever released.
