Ahh, the much anticipated sequel to the well-received Kingdom Hearts. I, like many who enjoyed the first game, have waited a very long time for the next installment, and I can safely say that it is a welcomed addition to the series.
Kingdom Hearts II is quite similiar to the first game in respect to its characters, plot, elements, etc. The main differences include a more complex battle-system that features the new additions of the Drive Forms (fuse with a party member to gain access you new and unique powers) and co-op attacks (execute powerful techniques with the aid of another party member), improved visuals (Kingdom Hearts II may be the best PS2 game, visually), and an improved gummi ship aspect (no longer are you controlling a rancid ship that looks like a colorful cardboard box). Kingdom Hearts II has expanded on nearly everything from the first game to make it feel very much like a...well, like a sequel.
Unfortunately, Kingdom Hearts II is not without faults. The game is, again, entirely too easy. Anyone from any age group can complete this game with relative ease no matter the difficulty setting. In addition, the game has far too many cut-scenes. You are watching the game more than you are actually playing it. These are somewhat minor complaints, though. Kingdom Hearts II is still a terrific game, nonetheless. If you enjoyed the first game, you should feel right at home with this one. I'd recommend this game to anyone...even if you don't approve of the much-debated Final Fantasy/Disney pairing.
