The robot lombax duo is back, this time it's personal. Times have been slow of heroes Ratchet and Clank after defeating Chairman Vox and ridiculing Captain Qwark. While relaxing in their home they get a call from an Abercrombie Fizzwidget the founder and president of Megacorp. Someone stole his new product, the Protopet, and wants Ratchet and Clank to find and retrieve it. But our heroes are in for more than they bargained for.
Ratchet and Clank: Going Commando is what every sequel to a game should be. Everything in this game is bigger and better than the original. The gameplay still remains the same as before. Run through each level completing the missions, defeat enemies, collect bolts, buy more weapons and so on. What is nice about all this is that each weapon you buy can be upgraded 5 times each time increasing in power and ammo. There are also tons of un-realistic weapons such as the Lava gun, Zodiac, Gravity Bomb, Blitz Gun, Hover Bomb and more. Another fun addition to the game are the space battles, some levels of the game let you fly around in your ship taking out enemies, and just to add to level of customization you can also upgrade your with new weapons, shields, engines, wings and paint jobs. Each ship mission lets you play multiple times with tons of side missions after the main mission to acquire more bolts. Another fun feature is inclusion of the arena battles. Throughout the game you can compete in a variety of arena battles each one increasing in difficulty. These are tons of fun and the variety of the different types of battles is impressive. The battles are more ways for you to gain more bolts and faster ways to upgrade your weapons.
There are no bad things to say about Ratchet and Clank: Going Commando.
In the end Ratchet and Clank: Going Commando is a great sequel. Good camera, good humor, tons of things to destroy, fun new features, like arena battles, space battles and hover bike races. Tons of new weapons that are upgradeable and most of all plenty of variety. There is nothing bad to say about this game other than if you didn't like the first one then you probably wont like this one.
