Sid Meirs Pirates! Is here and oh was it worth the wait. You're family was captured and held hostage by an evil Arsitocrat. You escaped and swore one day that you will find your family and kill the man that ruined your life. Welcome to a pirates life.

Pirates, is one of the best games for the PC. Here you can raise your own fleet, recruit in local taverns for more crewmembers raid towns and ships. You take a side on one of the 4 nations the Dutch, English, French or Spanish and from there well do what you please. You start off with a ship and some crewmembers and you can recruit more at the tavern at a nearby city. There is just so much you can do, you can look for buried treasure take on other pirates in the open sea and increase your status up the pirate rankings. You can actually become one of the most notorious pirates in the world. What else can you do? Well if you are one for commerce you can make a lot of money trading goods, spices, and luxuries with other towns. You can romance governor's daughters by attending local dancing balls and eventually get married. Your ships are also upgradeable, upgrade the armor the beds, the cannons he weapons the sails everything can be upgraded numerous times. There is just a lot you can do. On the seas you can attack other ships in a fun navel battle you can either beat your enemy senseless with your firepower until they surrender when you approach. Or you can just go and board their ship and fight the captain for the rights to the ship.

I guess the only downside is that the hand-to-hand battles aren't as fun as the navel battles. Also it can get boring if your sailing to another town and you are far from it.

All in all this game is hands down a must own. There is so much to do that I will not repeat here. You should go buy it right now after reading this. It's that good of a game and is well worth the money
