If you're a fan of other FF games, you will love this game! It's graphics are phenomenal, the story line is pretty good, and they've added aspect of live-battle to the still-strategic fights of old. I could spend hours playing with the equipment & gambits alone. As in other FF games, character development is massively important to your success, so take the time or you will regret it. The quickenings are my favorite aspect of the game so far. If you have enough character development coupled with all quickenings, you can really kick some butt. Sometimes, it's even fun to just go and see how high you can go on a cactoid or something small because...well...it's kind of amusing.
The graphics are better than most games out there for PS2. I continually find myself going, "Wow!" during the cut-scenes. They are very reminiscent of Star Wars and there are even some creatures that you would swear were IN Star Wars. You will become addicted to it quite quickly and there are so many options of things to do that you could spend days in this virtual world. It's the best FF to date! I can't wait to see where they go from here!
