This is definitely one of the stronger installments in the Final Fantasy Series and the RPG gaming genre. The graphics are great, the gameplay is very smooth, and, unlike the other Final Fantasy games before it, the people in the game actually talk!

The battle system in this game is also unlike the others before it since you can cycle in anybody in your party nearly any time that you want... So, you can use the strengths of each character in each individual situation you encounter to best suit your needs.

Another big difference is that the leveling up of individual attributes is no longer done at random. The "sphere grid" system allows the player to give each character whatever attributes they wish for them to have. This is good since it gives you a choice, but it is also bad if you are a diehard that wishes to maximize every character's stats. It is near impossible to find a maximum level that you can reach since so many combinations and possible changes to the sphere grid can be made. But, this is also part of what makes this game so interesting.

Final Fantasy X also contains an extra side game called "Blitz Ball" where you hire people to play on your team and can level them up similarly to how your fighters level up. Although a turn-based sport is a little unusual, Blitz Ball still proved to be interesting and a lot of fun.

If you are looking for a challenge, try to beat some the specially made creatures made from the creatures that you capture from around the world in the battle arena. You have to put a lot of time into preparing your characters after they have already reached extremely high levels to even stand a chance against most of them!

And last, but not least, Nobuo Uematsu once again produces another masterpiece of a soundtrack for this game.

Overall, Final Fantasy X was a great game. And, although I didn't feel the urge to continue playing and maximize my character's stats after I beat the game as I did in Final Fantasy VII and VIII, I still feel that this game offers its players an unforgettable gaming experience that can be enjoyed by all if given the chance. Definitely one of the best RPGs around....
