Ah, Goldeneye 007 (A.K.A. "Double 0 Sneaky") is easily one of the greatest shooters of all time. If you were to ask someone to just randomly list off their favorite games, this one would likely come to mind fairly quickly. This game revolutionized shooting games, making them what they should be: Addictive, interactive, and, most importantly, action packed and enjoyable from start to finish.
The countless hilarious situations that arise in a multiplayer game are priceless. You really haven't lived until you play in four player mode with three of your friends from 8pm to 6am the next morning. The different game modes, such as "Golden Gun Mode" (with one hit kills) change the game completely even if you are in the same level with the same characters. Also, the characters are interesting and include henchmen and villains from nearly all of the classic Bond films.
It is really hard to find much wrong with this game other than the occasional inevitable cheesiness of some the moves (such as the karate chop) that are created by the boundaries of the graphics of the Nintendo 64 system. But, we can't really ridicule this game for that, can we?
In short, Goldeneye 007 deserves to be ranked in the top ten games of all time for any system, ever. Here's to me hoping that Nintendo releases this on the Wii virtual console...
