This game is very addicting. You will be able to sit for hours and play it at a time, so be careful if you have responsibilities, lol! For those of you who have played Final Fantasy XI (online only), the gameplay is very similar. I do not recommend this game for anyone that is not interested in RPG's, obviously. I also would not recommend this for people that have trouble multitasking in a game, because some parts are very fast paced and there are a lot of complicated things. Unlike the previous Final Fantasy games, you do not just buy weapons and such and just equip them whenever you feel like it or based on level. There is a newer way in this game, call liscences, and I find it very useful.
The video graphics are amazing to say the least, but there are a lot of times that they last for only a few seconds. However, gameplay graphics are still amazing!
The storyline is a little difficult to follow, so you have to pay close attention. The vocabulary of a lot of the scenes is quite advanced, making it a difficult game for younger players to follow.
In battle mode, you actually have the choice between 'real-time' or 'wait', which makes it a lot easier to appeal to a wide variety of gamers.
I strongly suggest that, when you are saving the game and it tells you to save on a different file because "the area will not be easy to get out of", you should DEFINATELY heed that warning, because in most cases it is very true, depending on your characters levels and ability to solve some puzzles.
Overall, on a one to ten scale, I would give this game a rating of about 9.5. I definately think that this is one of the best games that i have played in a very long time.
