Let's begin. It's Kirby. Who couldn't love the little pink... er, bubble thing? And the lovable enemy eating hero hasn't changed much from the old days, either. This DS outing seems to be more like a a re-vamped version of the older games than a brand-new game, which may or may not be a bad thing. The three true predecessors (that I know of, sorry if I'm wrong)to this game were all great and unique, since, well, gaining your enemies abilities was only done before in Mega Man. Then again, Mega Man was considered HARD (not that is isn't now, mind you), and Kirby... wasn't.

Which brings me to the first strike against this game: It's really, REALLY easy. Getting all 120 Chests to get 100% is a very easy task, and only about three or four of them will require more than a fifth grader's logic. Then again, why would you even want the chests? Well, all of them unlocks some special little thing, be it some music tracks or color changes. But, you actually need to collect certain items to unlock the last world, which can be a pain if you didn't collect those lovely seals in the first place. And the bosses? I myself only had problems with two, but one was because I was too tired to realize what to do. Seriously, the only challenge at all in this game is the battle against arch-rival MetaKnight, and of course fans of the series wouldn't expect anything else.

And, also as most people would expect, the gameplay is almost exactly the same as the games before. You eat enemies to gain their abilites, kill other enemies, slove puzzles every once and a while, and that's pretty much it. But, it's that simplicity that makes the game accessible to pretty much everyone. The only differences between Squeak Squad and the pervious Kirby games are the stomach storage type... thing, and new and expanded enemy skills. The stomach idea, located at the bottem of the screen, allows you to store up to five "bubble items", and allows you to mix them (which is almost useless) and use them using the touch screen controls (which is not easy if you're in a heated moment, when you'll need to use it the most). The enemy abilities are nicely done, though. Most of the new abilities are useful and fun. For example, Kirby's secret ability, which can only be unlocked after getting certain chests, is really fun to mess with. And most of the old skills are still around, but have been much improved on. For example, instead of Kirby's sword ability only having it's one downward slash, you can now do combos and other interesting things. You can especially see this is the Ninja and Fighter abilites, with upwards to having at least 20 different button moves, it makes the game a little harder to master, though it doesn't make the game harder.

And the music, you might ask? It's all either remixed or simply ripped versions of older tracks, adding emphasis that Squeak Squad is closely related to the older games. Now, while the older tracks aren't horrible, per se, it still would have been nice to hear something new.

In the end, if you love Kirby, you'll love this game, though your mind is probably mature enough to beat this game with 100% in under eight hours. It's still a fun game, but it may not be worth 35 dollars to some people. It all depends on your love for the little pink... puffball thing... What is Kirby anyway? Ah well, that question's for another day.
