With the recent comparing of Resistance: Fall of Man vs. XBox 360's Gears of War, this may have you wondering if Playstation 3 is really worth the money. Also, few people have been able to even get their hands on a PS3 yet. This means that many people have actually had the chance to test the game out. Since I had the chance to play the game and beat it, I feel that it is an obligation to give you guys a review of the game compared to the other PS3 games out there. In my opinion, this game is a lot better then Gears of War.
Game play: 10/10
The best part about game play is that controls are pretty much in the same place as PS2. This makes it easy on you (the gamer) since you don't have to learn new controls and coordination. That was one thing that was well thought out. Also, the game is very well designed and single player has yet to be boring. In the beginning, you will probably die a lot but once you get the hang of the game, you will love it. As for playing online, right now the servers seem a bit slow but Sony should be upgrading in the future once more people get their hands on a PS3 and they are able to make more.
Graphics + Sound: 10/10
The graphics for this game are incredible and beyond any PS3 game available yet. The special effects in the game are almost overboard and it almost feels like you're in the game. I recommend getting a nice surround sound setup and turn it up.
Even though Resistance is a launch title, the game should hold its ground over many of the other titles for quite awhile. Even though Xbox 360's Gears of War graphics look better then Resistance: Fall of Man, the game itself cannot be compared. You won't regret getting this game. Online playing is a blast and will be even better when the server upgrades come.
How other people feel? We quote Andypandy from ebgames, "Looking good
This game looks like quite the chaos. Seedy looking monsters coming towards you- all wanting to mash you up and make you into a spicy meat-a-ball in front of an incredibly detailed backdrop. It seems like a different direction for insomniac but I reckon it's a great direction. It's looking fun, hectic and captivating.
The weapons are all very new and creative looking models. There are grenades that send blades flying everywhere nailing your enemy to the wall. Sounds like fun doesn't it? The final verdict- , sounding brilliant , incredible scenery and realistic warfare. Sounds like the perfect game."
The tribe has spoken: Resistance: Fall of Man is the best of the best for next-gen games until future games are released to compare!
