This game is great!
I can't describe it exactly, but there is this intangible feeling of connection that i have with my onscreen fighter that i did not have with tekken or DOA2 or DOA3.  For the first time since 1992, i feel about a fighter like i did about SF2.  Actually i liked tekken 1 and soul blade..  but not as much as i like this.

Im sure the latter games are just as good, but given my brains limited capacity to adapt to new play mechanics, this late in life...  i could only give those other games a week or so..  before i gave up and sold them on ebay.

I love that this game is so polished that , though the action is fast, you can still react to your opponent...  in an intelligent way.  It is the first fighter i have seen where the action is MOST LIKE A movie KungFu scene *(a lot of punches and kicks thrown but little connection cause they always block eveyrthing), in that you can see what your opponent is throwing because of the very good character animations, and block accordingly or counter move.  It sounds frustrating to hear how the opponent blocks much of your attacks..and vice versa, but when you see it...  the action is so fast paced...  it just looks cool and feels very gratyfying.  Like when i am playing Lei Fei against Vanessa, I can see she is about to throw a high punch, cuase her elbow pulls back...  and if i am fast enough i can then go into dokuritsu stance which dodges and grabs her arm..  then slam her to the ground.

its misleading to say that the game only uses 3 buttons.
there is P= punch, K = kick, and G = guard.

it is more accurate to say the game has 6 buttons.

because P+G gets a button of its own and is dedicated for throwing , they shoud have just called it a "throw" button.  There is also a button assigned for P+K which would be like a "fierce punch" button.  (you could press the individual ones simultaneously but by default there is an assigned shoulder button)

I am happy that i bought it.

i just read the post below mine.  Very articulate and well said.  I wish i was as coherent as that.  But im excited about the game and typing as fast as i can!
