I've never been a big fan of Square. I've never understood everyone's fascination with their RPGs - the overdone random encounters alone are enough to put me to sleep on the couch. Now, that being said, I really did enjoy Parasite Eve. It's a well-crafted story wrapped in excellent graphics with an interesting lead character. Its problem may be that it doesn't exactly fit the RPG or Adventure molds. It's a mix of the two that may appeal to some but not likely the hard-core RPG fans. Me? I quite enjoyed it - a fun title to pick up in the used or bargain bin.
