18 Wheeler: American Pro Trucker is a hard game to review. What is there is a solid racing/parking game with good graphics, excellent handling and a unique twist on the genre, but what it's lacking is a lot of game. Within the first hour I had completely finished the arcade mode and was watching the credits. Another hour and a half later I had completed the "parking" games (my favourite aspect of the game by the way) and was pulling the disc out of my DC.
There is a "versus" option to play with a friend but it's not going to draw too many people into this game for too long.
The game itself sports a Crazy-Taxi-with-big-trucks feel (including loud horns) but in the end you'll want to rent this (for a single day) or have an amazing love of the trucking industry. The parking games are a blast while they last and in fact, if the game had more length to it I would have likely given this a high 7.x out of 10. As it stands Sega needs to give this series more depth and length if it wants to make a successful sequel.
