Prince of Persia is one of those rare gems that comes around once and awhile that sucks you in with excellent storytelling, a great variety of situations and very entertaining game-play. You control the Prince as he weaves his way through a tale of love, betrayal and mistakes while trying to rectify the harm that he caused when he released the Sands of Time.
It's a 3rd-person action adventure that offers the unique twist of being able to rewind time when you miss a jump, get killed in battle or just want to back things up a bit. The environments are all lushly detailed and really give you the feeling that you're playing an epic adventure. The storyline is simply amazing and even after you're finished you'll think back about how well the studio put it all together.
Graphics are equally impressive although my one lone complaint of the game is regarding camera angles. Once and awhile the camera will become a problem and will either get stuck behind a pillar (so you can't see what you're doing which is a problem during battles) or leave you not knowing exactly where you should be going next.
The audio is spot on with excellent vocal performances by all of the characters. I particularly enjoyed the Prince's "inner dialog" where he muses about what is happening and ponders what he should do next. It's a nice touch that really brings you into the game.
All in all I truly had a wonderful time with Prince of Persia and I look forward to seeing what the Prince is up to in his next two adventures. I highly recommend this game to anyone who enjoys a good 3rd-person adventure with a highly entertaining storyline.
