Quake 3 Arena attempts to introduce a new variable into the death match equation: eye-candy. No one can deny that Q3A looks better than the competition; it was designed with this in mind. But it seems as if they added the game play as an after-thought. Compared to Unreal Tournament, the artificial intelligence isn't very … well … intelligent. The single player in and of itself consists of only fighting individual enemies, with little in the way of reward for your efforts. However, since the game is now close to being in the bargain bin (and is also sold partnered with Team Arena), it's finally a good buy.
