Lady Sia is quite a good game for a GBA newbie. It has a cartoony feel, it comes from Europe... and the main person is a girl :) Don't be drawn in by the nice looks, she's scarier than Anne Robinson! They should have got her to host The Weakest Link, but they had to go for the anti-Welsh mad cow.
Why there were so many copies of this game left in my local store I had no idea!
Firstly, the graphics. Nicely drawn and animated. Everything down from the backgrounds to the drowning animations.
Then comes the sound. Parts of the soundtrack sound like an old Gameboy game, but that's modern technology for ya!
Gameplay... hmmm... this is an interesting part, press left and right to move, A to jump, B or R to hack sword, hold it a little longer to fire a magical bolt, L to tiptoe... she can even turn into a Sasquatch! Only problem is that she moves forward when she hacks her sword, which could make her fall quite a height or into deep water!
This game has battery backup and loads of levels. It's quite tough and will take some dedication to timing those jumps, grappling those platforms and avoiding those fish!
All in all I think TDK and RFX have done a good job with this game, TDK's first outing on the GBA. And I think Lady Sia isn't getting the credit it so deserves, and I hope RFX can drum up a sequel with many new twists and improvements.
