Although one of the best (only recent)Rally games to arrive on the PS2, WRC dissapoints in many ways. Unfortunately, these all stem from the how WRC tries to simulate real rally experience. The races are cut into sections which are over too quick and are much too linear. You never get to race against other people, only times, which sucks. No shortcuts, no weather changes and you don't even get to enjoy a good crash! Go off the road and you are almost instantly reset. Console games in general are evolving into "hold my hand" affairs with FFX, MGS2, and others leading gamers by the hand to the end of the game. But a good rally experience should be frantic hairy and deadly. Conversly WRC feels like a bland ride. Stick to the rally in GT3 and wait for that Colin rally which has industry gamers foaming at the mouth. We shall see.
