THE GOOD: Artistic creativity and sensibility unequalled in any videogame. The devs succeed in creating an interactive fairy tale complete with a massive stone castle set on a misty, sun-soaked coast. Shadowy imp-like entities appear to pull your charge, a mysterious, magically endowed girl, to an unknown fate while you fight to save her and lead her out of the castle. Animation is on par with anything created by Disney - utterly convincing and full of personality. The puzzles in the game are logical and not overly difficult to manage with a little thought.
THE BAD: Not anything worth mentioning. Because the game is so unlike typical videogames some people might not be able to appreciate Ico's subtle nuances and apparent lack of twitchy action gameplay.
OVERALL: A game everyone should try. When people in the future point to videogames as a legitimate artform like movies and music, Ico will be one of the games remembered leading the charge.
