THE GOOD: Jaw-droppingly incredible visuals from the detailed character models to the lush environment. GW is a world you want to explore. Gameplay consists of you and any volunteers making your way through dungeons, caves and the countryside hacking up any enemies that stand in the way of your quest. More fun with real people but the game can provide you with AI allies who are fairly competent. Another fun aspect of these types of games is spending all the gold you find/win on better weapons and armor. Last point, no subscription for GW.
THE BAD: GW is not a MMORPG even though it looks like one and shares some aspects of a MMORPG. While the environment looks incredible the level of immersion isn't - bushes, yes bushes are as solid as walls and small boulders impede you travel because of your inability to jump over them. Not major gripes, just annoying. The last time I played the level limit was 20 which many players had already attained so boredom may set in unless new content is added or offered(as expansion packs).
BOTTOM LINE: No GW is not a free MMORPG. It's more like a 3D graphics-engine powered version of Diablo, but it's still a highly polished, well done game for it's genre. More fun with friends but playable solo.
