It was great until the xbox came out with Project Gotham Racing!!!  it is still second place.  But not for long...  Sega GT 2002 is comming and I think it's going to be much better. 
 
What I love about this game is that you start with the worst cars and you have to go winning races and fixing your cars and buying new ones...  and there is a hug amount of cars to choose from.  The graphics are not so good like in PGR and I rather have more places to race than a wide variaty of cars.
