I am still early on in the game , but so far loving it. The camera system is pretty good for a horror game, although not having any cinematic views gets somewhat boring.
While the fancy camera angles in Silent Hill make it hard on combat, it does add tension. I wonder how much better the Thing would have been if it used both the over the shoulder cam and the cinematic views?
The challenge level of this game is very well balanced. Managing weapons and team members, balanced with light exploration and lots of combat make for a game that is definitely being "Played" and not "watched" like many other games.
I have yet to find myself backtracking for too many keys like the RE series, and I hope this lack of backtracking continues. So far the story has been pushing the gameplay forward.
I reccomend playing this in the dark, late at night. I usually wait til my girlfriend goes to bed so she doesnt see me getting scared ;)
