Jak and Daxter is an excellent platformer, especially from the technical standpoint.  0 load times, fantastic animations, textures, special effects , draw distance, framerate etc..  all stand out.

The voice acting is tight, the storyline is decent for a platformer, I really cant find anything "wrong" with this game.

However it doesn't score a 10 IMO for a few reasons.  1 is the reliance on standard collect the coins gameplay.  With all the technical innovation and creative level design there is a level of excellence that isn't realized in this core element.  Collecting coins, or "ecco" is just stale.
