When I first played this game, I thought "What's the big deal?". Then, I played it again, and again, and again. Wow, I couldn't put it down.
The graphics in this game won't make you write home to mother dearest, however, they will make it easy on your eyes. The characters and maps are nicely drawn up and very colourful. You'll notice how cool everything just seems to look, whether it be the infantry, the tanks, or the submarines. The expressions on your opponent's face is hilarious when you attack of guard and take out a supply, or when they attack you but your troops manage to take them out instead.
The gameplay is basic, but somehow amazing. Maybe it is because I am a huge fan of risk, or maybe its because I've jumped on the AW bandwagon; whatever it may be, this game's gameplay is better than sliced bread. The absolute strategy involved in this game is enough to bring you back. You cannot just barrell through your opponent head on, it just won't work, you'll have to deploy a pattern around, behind or from all angles of your oppenent. Submarines are a bit of trick too, I've been snubbed once or twice by the CPU's hidden subs that have dove. The attacking and defending is priceless, it is truly a reminder to me of risk (except there is no dice to roll).
The replay value is extremely high, its the reason this game gets a 9 (coupled with the stellar gameplay and good visuals!). There are some things to unlock, like extra battle areas, but honestly, you won't care that much about them, you'd want to play this game even if it had nothing to unlock. There is already a plenty of places to choose from, and a good cast of characters. This game scores very high on the replay tilt.
