The reason this game is getting so many different reviews is simple: This is a wrestling game which realisticly depicts the events and venues which actually occur in the world of pro wrestling.  Well, used to, anyway.  This game is hands down better than WWF Smackdown Just Bring it!  for more than one reason.

First, Smackdown is a fast paced, high action, fighting game with a ring which wrestlers can brawl in, if they choose so.  Legends on the other hand, is a medium paced, moderate action, wrestling match which can get the crowd jacked or upset.  You must thrill the crowd with certain things in order to win them over.

Second, Smackdown is overall dry (even with the large variety of match types), and it doesn't seem to matter what mode you play in, it still is the same.  I found that in Smackdown everything seemed to result the same way, whether it be exhibition, story mode, or multiplayer.  Legends may not have the match variety, but multiplayer seems so much more fun, and the career is really enjoyable and actually takes time to develop.

Lastly, Smackdown went for the realistic approach in graphics, and did a good job I must say; however, the game's realism was junk.  Half the time I didn't know what the heck was going on, the game was strictly mashing buttons and swinging weapons.  Legends took the opposite approach graphically, and what resulted was fairly neat eye candy.  The exaggeration of the models is very cool.  Its gameplay simply contrasts that of Smackdown's.  Legends actually makes you go through the process of the move and all that jazz.  It may still be mashing buttons, but atleast it will result in something that makes you feel, you, yourself, accomplished.

In end, I simply enjoy the Legends of Wrestling.  ONe thing that is for sure, the roster will never be outdated.
