Aliens distroy the earth and man moves on... old story to say the least, but not so badly done. The story basicly is that after man finaly found a way to move about space effectivly with more advanced space ships, earth was attacked by a alien race for no apperent reason other then they could now travel through space better. The aliens never bothered to communicate, nor did humans find a way to do so before the earth was fragged, forcing the human race to get out in a hurry. As man spits up, they evolve differently depending on where they went in space, some more inteligent, some warlike, some even prefering cyborg bodies. They eventualy regroup and decide to fight back against the aliens they dubed 'The Armada'. The game allows you to pick your race of humans, differing in weapons, ship types, and each having their own strong point. You gain experience as you kill armada ships, also collecting credits and sometimes ship parts. You use credits to buy parts as you visit space stations. The farther you get from your main planet, the harder and stronger the armada is. When you gain enough levels, you can upgrade your ship. the space is literaly so huge that it will take you a long time to reach the end of it if you can. The problem is that the game quickly becomes boring, mostly the armada just attacks in swarms and that is it, occasonaly you can escort parts and ships from one place to anouther, but after that it is just shooting fish in a barral or getting shot up yourself. The armada dont give you hardly enough credits and experience for their difficulty, even harder ones just spitting out a dozen or so experience points. running around in space with nothing much to do is boring. The game was suppost to be a massive net linked game, which is why the space is so huge, but like everything else net relate on the DC, it never happened. Its like playing Everquest by yourself. Not really worth the money unless its dirt cheap.
