Call me old school but I have played ever single Mega Man game I could get my hands on from the first one too 8 and X5. This game does not fallow the story for the original blue bomber or even the story for MMX, but it compleatly goes off on a different twist. Story is simply that the world is covered in water save for a few small islands that are inhabited by people. The world is pockmarked with small and very large ruins filled with jewels that are used for power to fuel the machines of men, and are used for cash. These crystals are mined by adventurers called Diggers, who must also deal with relic-like robots called Reverbots. Megaman is part of a family of Diggers, Roll being his sister and 'Gramps' being his... well, gramps. He is addopted, and while no one actualy makes a comment about him actualy BEING a ROBOT, you can guess that by how he upgrades himself. The game has a RPG feel, grabbing items and building and upgreading weapons and special weapons to use, increasing the power of your regular gun as well as special guns to use on your left hand. Also you can pick up the traditinal helment and also upgread your armor. The game is done in 3-D and is done fairly well, each character keeps their 'Mega Man' look, although the character's basic designs are different from the traditinal designs, but the faces are still the same. Which also brings up that the faces are animated, simply animation put onto flat poligons, and done very well, almost making the faces look 3-D as well. Good game if you like Mega Man, though it is a taste of something different.
