It is time to play a wrestling game gone horribly wrong. This game is based on the Saturday morning anime on Fox, involving a world revolving around wrestling, with good guys and bad guys. Just think of it as WWE with anime characters and a childish plot line. For those of you who like Def Jam Vendetta, the battle system is the same. It is a very basic system that anyone can master with ease. You can play as one of the many characters in the quest mode, which sets you in a rather cheesy quest with one character fighting opponents one after the other until you get to a final boss, usual unlocking a hidden character after that. The controls are amazingly unresponsive, light pressing or heavy button mashing usual yield rather late attacks or the wrong action when you need it the most. What does make the game shine are the good anime styles of the characters and the flashy special moves they get, including a level 3 move which launches a move you usually won’t see anywhere else then in an action anime, complete with flashy names and lots of jumping. The character creation is NOT very good, having rather unimaginative choices and very few choices at that. What made the game rather interesting is that as you win, you get coins that can be used to buy little M.U.S.C.L.E and Ultimate muscle figures from vending machines, vending the original that have been around for years and the new ones just coming out in Japan. If you like quick and easy wrestling games, this is one for you. If you like games with a little more depth or good character creation, stick with the regular titles.
