Ok, this was the first Yu Gi Oh game I have played because I generaly thought the show was only mildly entertaining and the card game was full of...  well you can guess what.  But after playing the game...  I cannot stop!  It is addictive, I want to beat all the other opponents into the ground!  The game is baiscly a handheld version of the cardgame in videogame format, a direct conversion rule for rule, card for card.  You baiscly use monsters of all sorts to attack your opponents 'life points' trying to knock him down to zero.  Different monsters are stronger then others, some providing special effects in the duel, others are so strong they require you sacrifice other monsters to bring them out.  You can also use magic cards or trap cards to help you win.  You face characters from the show, 5 to start and sets of 5 more as you win duals.  Each time you win, you get to pick from boster decks to add more cards to your collection, each time you have a chance of finding rare cards to add to your deck, making it easyer to win.  Occasionaly the game throws something at you to make it seem interesting, like receving a Yu Gi Oh comic with a free boster deck inside and going to the local game shop to play tournament duels.  Basicly the overall flow is very basic and predictable, you CAN chose to play the same dulest over and over if you like, but the overall cardgame, collecting, and deck building is more addictive then smoking.  The sounds and music are so genaric you might as well make up your own.  For a game based directly from a card game, its alot better then blowing lots of money on a starter deck and boster decks after that and having to play against annoying little kids in real life.
