Time for an adventure with Mario and...  um...  what's his face in the green outfit.  This game has you playing as the plumber's duo in a race to get back the Princess's voice, it having been stolen by an evil force having left her to live with a voice that causes massive explosions every time she talks.  Your biggist supporter is Bowser, who needs you to make the princess's voice safe from explosions again so he can, you guessed it, kidnap her and hide her away in his castle.  You have to take the two plumbers into a new kingdom to get the voice back, and you will need to use all sorts of combo attacks to do so.  The game runs in a combo 3d platformer and RPG.  You run around, jumping and jumping and jumping some more to pick up items by bashing your head against blocks.  You use your jumping to get the edge in battles, jumping on opponents to give them damage before the battle starts.  Like in Mario RPG, hitting buttons at the right time adds in more damage, but now hitting the button at the right moment can also prevent you from getting hit when being attacked or even allow for counter attacks.  You can even perform dual attacks that allow you to do massive damage by hitting buttons in a combo, though doing so unaided is quite a challange.  The game looks very cartoony and has a running gag about how no one knows Luigi's name and just refer to him as 'green guy'.  The jumping, jumping, and more jumping gets a little old after awhile, and the camera position makes it hard to see things behind the various platforms and pillers, making it easy to bump into enemys behind them.  The game also lacks the draw and addictiveness that the original Mario RPG has, to much meandering around in areas that look almost the same, making it easy to get lost.  The game is fun and playable though, and will be fun to those who enjoy platforming with a bit of RPG thrown in to make it interesting, but hardcore platformers or RPG game fans will probably feel left out.
