I know what you are thinking, "Finaly, something other then Romance of the Three kingdom's stuff!" Yes, for those who are tired of the battles of Shu, Wu, and Wei, now we have the great battles between the many Shogun's of Japan.  For one, the battles are a bit more complicated as there can be up to 3 armies fighting each other at once.  The number of soldiers on screen has been increased slightly for this game, and the battles are one a slightly larger scale then the other Warriors games.  They have changed the growth system for this paticular game.  Rather then picking up fallen stat items from commanders, you pick up items to up your experience.  Upping experience adds to your basic HP and Muso points.  To up attack, defense, and so forth, you have to get skill pionts obtained by how well you play.  Thats right, you want high stats, gotta earn them this time.  Killing lots of foes with muso attacks increases attack, while beating levels fast increases horse skills and overall speed and agility.  There is also a skill tree players can use to buy skills, like one that ups stat growth or anouther that allows special attacks.  The characters have their usual individual look and outlandish weapons, but the overall soldiers look the same, their colors not seeming to be different enough to set them appart most of the time.  Besides the over all change of venue, the major change is that there are far fewer characters to play as.  The create a general section is upgraded to a type of story where you have to train to up your stats, but picking and choosing armor types to make a more individual character has been removed.  This game was a good diversion from the Dynasty warriors series, and the character growth in the game was a nice new way to advance characters, but the lack of just a few more playable characters and the multiplayer is bad, the game slows down to much and you can only use muso attacks when both players have a full muso meter, so more often then not, one will hit muso mode when he needs it while the other will be too far away from opposing forces to make use of it.  Over all, its still a fun game for those who are not tired of the 'Warriors' franchise.
