Namco once again proves that it knows how to put together a great game, with unbeleivable graphics and bonuses aplenty.
Wait a minute...  where's the gameplay? Why do I just mash on the buttons to win? Why is blocking always a stupid thing to do? Why is the AI laughably bad?
Glaringly, Soul Blade had some better features.  Ending animations (as opposed to sterile text) and alternate weapons to use are nowehere to be found in the sequel.  What gives? Namco's bonuses, though still impressive, have been getting progressively worse since Tekken 3.
It's a great game, no doubt about it.  As a *fighter*, however, I'll take Dead or Alive 2 over this exercise in button-mashing any day.
