It's not just nostalgia that makes this game good; it's just plain good on its own terms. The writing is deliberately goofy, but the plot really picks up towards the end. The battles are fun, if a bit repetitive, but Wizardry's realy strength is how enjoyable it is in its simplicity. You'll just genuinely enjoy levelling up your characters, finding a new item/spell, completing a new silly quest ("Find my fiancée..." etc.). It's got lots of value, and is quite fun. Give it a try.
