hmmm...so i pick up an xbox a few weeks ago for the sole purpose of playing Morrowind...and Halo comes as a very good treat!
first off, let me say that this game is simply amazing....there is no other console FPS that gives you the same feeling that Halo does (other than goldeneye, but that is in the past!)
the scene for the game is set up simply by telling you to basically kill the covenent (a bunch of aliens) and rescue marines....but then the story gets wacked out, and it starts to really suck you in with its cinematic camera and cutscenes
the graphics are outstanding...you wont find a console FPS with better graphics. this game has so much going on at one time...marines fighting aliens, you fighting aliens, aliens fighting the swarm of ugly dudes plus vehicles driving around, explosions going off, all the while running smoothly and with an amazing atmosphere and graphics...the only downside are some of the graphics of the structures...inside of them all look the same and it gets very boring running around hallways that all look alike...besides that, the graphics are super!
the sound, controls, and fun factor of this game are through the roof...everything is simply perfect for this game. all of the sounds, from the marines yelling for help, to the explosions help draw you into the game even more! the controls are pretty simple...R shoots, L throws gernade, and the rest of the buttons are fairly easy to remember as well. i recommend getting a controller S though as it is easier to find the buttons you want to press, so that you wont switch guns when you really want to reload, or smack someone with the butt of your gun when you want to jump...as it gets rather confusing!
after you beat the normal game in single player mode, there is still much more to warrant another run-through. you can play the story mode co-op with one of your friends which is a blast! or you can gather 4 friends to sit around a tv to play capture the flag, or an all out blast-fest! there are tons of options to customize multiplayer games, and there is even support to play 8 players on 2 tv's at a time...something that i havent done yet, but would love to try!
all in all, this is THE game to get with an xbox. hey, it won game of the year, and i now see why. this game was xbox's first killer app, and it still stands today as one of the best games on the xbox! GET IT!!!!
