After playing this game for a few days now, I must say that I'm decidedly impressed. The control system for hitting the balls has now been fully implemented, and the addition (since 2000 anyway) of a few new shot types (Punch, Flop etc...) make it a bit easier to get out of the rough and hazards. In addition to this, it looks absolutely great, with the course fly-bys (at the touch of a button, no less) being especially good. There are also a few RPG elements to the game, where you can win points by doing impressive things on the course, then spend them improving your character. This adds a nice element to the game. It is also possible to play with a whole lot of people (8 maximum, I think) on one course, all with the same controller. These free-for-alls are great (admittedly I've only played with 5 people so far), although it takes ages for it to come back round to your shot again (especially when you hit a 350Y Drive and everyone else puts in the bunker). That's hardly a major concern, however. What IS a major concern is that, although this seems to have somewhat more depth than the majority of Golf-games, it IS still a golf-game, and subsequently, I am unsure of it's longevity. That said, I'm nowhere near bored yet, so we'll have to wait and see.
Summary: Best Golf game ever. It's a lot more of a Simulation than HSG3, so go for this if you prefer realism.
Graphics: 9 (nicely detailed, even 'Monty' looks right...)
Sound: 7 (Nice SFX, but little by way of music)
Gameplay: 10 (best Golf game ever, IMO)
Longevity: 8 (hesitatingly, I judge this on how long I THINK it's going to last)
