I noticed recently that I had missed a few games that I have played and did not review. So although this review is long overdue and is certainly for my peice of mind I offer it just in case.
Graphics/Sound - Prince of Persia (POP) stands as the highwater wark with Crimson Skies for graphics on the XBox in my opinion. The animation is really a sight to behold in its fluidness and I truely enjoyed the washed out feel of the entire design. There was nothing in the soundtrack of effects that was anything but excellent. On the downside I did notice while playing some graphical hitches and stutters during gameplay but they are only worth mentioning due to the overall high quality. Overall 24/25
Gameplay - I didn't rush out and buy this opening day, I actually waited for a month or 2 and bought it second hand because although I had read how terrific it was, I was very hesitant due to the fact this typically isn't my type of game. I am happy I waited and even more estatic that my worries were totally false. The game was a blast, I really enjoyed the puzzles, the how do I get from A to B. Ok, the puzzles did get repetitive in design, that is to say it was almost always getting from A to B with mass acrobatics. I could complain that the solutions were mostly linear and the combat was only decent. Even with those known issues, I kept plugging away, kept not putting it down until I finished an area, heck I finished the game in about 2 weeks and I usually take significantly longer because I do not stay focused on a single game, this was a pleasant exception. Overall 33/35
Bang for $ - No multiplay, I don't have XBox live so I don't care. The game probably could have been longer, I personally could have played it for another 50% of it actual length. Overall 16/20
Personal View - The game is a trhowback to a different era of games, when games didn't rely on body count but on imagination. It succeeded in spades. I didn't know if I would enjoy this game and I couldn't have been more wrong, I am looking forward to playing The Warrior Within even after reading they have upped the body count. Overall 18/20
