If you're expecting something drastically different to breathe new life in the Dynasty Warriors series, you'll be disappointed. If you expect more of the same, you'll be very happy with the new environments and new classs of officers. The graphics are about the sme as DW4 as far as I can tell, but that's fine because th DW games never lacked in detail to begin with.
Each character has five battles to do, which may seem short, but it's intended to give each character more of a story instead of having everyone always appearing in the same battles over and over again. They have two different endings of each character, depending on how well you follow the mission requirements for each battle. As far as I can tell, there's one good ending and one "stalemate" ending.
The game does sadly carry over some of the nuissances from DW games, like the horseman who likes to block your view, or the people right off of your viewable area who hit you hard enough to toss you across the field. It's also missing the character bio section found in DW games, but that's no big loss.
